Why do so many of my friends think its such a bad idea for me (a guy) to save myself for marriage?

Whenever it comes up with my friends they always say its a terrible idea. I really like the girl im dating and i like the idea of saving my first time till marriage (and shes cool w that) is there something im missing here?

Because you’re voluntarily missing out on having good times. Sex is an enjoyable experience and there’s no reason to abstain from it just because your religion dictates so. It’s natural. Embrace the activity, don’t dwell on it.

According to the laws of science the male is supposed to impregnate as many females as possible for the survival of the species. Somehow that transferred into our lives as either not saving yourself for marriage is a sin or your being an idiot because you are saving yourself for marriage. There is no right answer to what you should or shouldn’t do. If this is what you want then you shouldn’t let others change that. I can tell you more women will respect you for that instead of how many you got before them. Plus you never know what kind of nasty things are floating around out there. Next time they bring it up tell them something like "Well at least I won’t get STDs, now tell me, when was the last time you got tested for them?" I’m sure that’ll get them to leave you alone
