And, abstinence-oath teens are less likely to receive comprehensive sex education and more likely to become pregnant (once they break their oath). I'm not saying it's a bad idea to save yourself for marriage. But I do encourage even these teens to educate themselves about safer sex. That way, they're prepared no matter what they decide to do later on down the line. I can tell you that some guys I’ve dated have found that to be old fashioned and not respected it, or me for that matter, but I dumped them and moved on. My current boyfriend (of over 6 months) is okay with waiting until I’m ready to have sex. So, in my experience: a) any guy that’s worth it will wait until your ready & b) guys will still want to date you Just remember to count to ten and stick to your principles/morals. Best of Luck! If you can wait until you are married, that is awesome! I wish I had but I thought I was in love, turns out he wanted sex with a virgin. The best advice I can give you is don't let them talk you into having sex if you don't want too. It's not easy, they will be all over you because you are a virgin.
