You can’t stop it unless the divorce was your idea or your spouse changes her/his mind. You can’t control everything. But you can take responsibility yourself and make some crucial internal changes that would be required of the leaving spouse.
Not enough information, but try:
Ask for a delay until after Christmas, New Years, or April 2009 income tax time.
Contest it with the court.
Tell her she’s right and ask her forgiveness.
wats the reason ur gettin a divorce? this will determine if u can fix it
ha get an annulment and your marriage never happened.
you can’t. don’t be with someone who doesn’t want to be with you.
Try to work things out…
If you filed, you can stop it from happening. If your spouse filed you may not be able to stop the divorce. The thing is, if someone has gotten to the point of filing for divorce they have already started the process of emotionally moving away from the relationship. Why would you want to force someone to stay with you? You deserve someone who wants to be with you, not someone who is there out of being pressured or forced. A situation like that is only temporary and they will eventually leave or you both will end up very unhappy, only going through the motions of being married and not in a nurturing partnership.
You can’t stop it. You can only attempt to fight it, but all that does is make the situation worse, cost more, and cause more emotional pain for all involved.
If you really are against it, you could attempt to mention counceling, or mediation. Maybe those will give you time to attempt to explain your feelings, and how you don’t want the divorce.
IF your spouse won’t agree to those, then I would say agree with the divorce, and get it over as soon as possible. There is no point trying to fight it, like I said, there is NO way for you to stop it. I’m sorry….
